Village
The first half of December is a very active week in SOS Children Villages Cape Verde. The mothers, aunties and remaining staff usually are in rushing shopping, gifts for children, food and decorations. The Christmas tree decoration begins with children’s help in a lively and pleasant atmosphere. Some children receive cards from international sponsors and all children receive gifts from the village administration. The gifts are placed around the Christmas tree. Sometimes the children do not resist and open it before the Christmas’ Eve. There is no specific dish for the midnight supper. It is usually chosen from a variety of dishes. Usually it is served cod dish; roasted turkey, duck rice, etc.

In SOS Children’s Village S. Domingos, is held every year, on December 24th, a lunch in the kindergarten saloon. This is the day that is distributed gifts to children, usually under the warm December sun, in a relax environment. Children play, make fool walking around the cakes, sweets and gifts. Their biological parents also take part. The remaining days of Christmas party are spent with the biological family. However, unfortunately, not everyone can spend these days with them. Those who can not go to their SOS mother own house and they share moments with their SOS mother biological family.
